History of the Constitution The basis of the Federal Constitution of Malaysia is the Constitution of the Federation of Malaya. History of Malaysia The history of Malaysia is a relatively recent offshoot of the history of the wider Malay-Indonesian world. Culturally and linguistically, there was until recent times little to distinguish the territories which now constitute Malaysia from the lands of the Indonesian archipelago. Today the Malay world is divided into five states - Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Brunei and East Timor – largely as the result of outside influences. The History of Yap Ah Loy This site is about the story of Kapitan Cina (Chinese Captain) Yap Ah Loy, the man who governed the city of Kuala Lumpur during her founding years and laid the foundations of her development to become the capital of Malaysia and an international city. Indonesia-Malaysia confrontation The Indonesia-Malaysia confrontation was an intermittent war over the future of the island of Borneo, between British-backed Malaysia and Indonesia in 1962-1966. It is called Konfrontasi in the Indonesian and Malay languages. Malay Concordance Project The MCP presents over 4 million words (including over 75,000 verses) from 90 sources of pre-modern Malay written text. This material can be searched on line in a variety of ways, and studied in its contexts. The Virgin Soldiers When this site was created and developed, its aim, which remains, was to record those conflicts since 1945 in which British service personnel have been called upon to do their duty, reported as far as possible through the eye-witness accounts of those involved, and to create Honour Rolls, where none existed before, of those who gave their lives in service to their country.
